The Home Affordable Refinance Program

In 2009 President Obama launched the Home Affordable Refinance Program, HARP. The program began as a way for people who owe more on their houses than what they are actually worth. Obama has now unveiled a few changes to HARP while he was in Nevada campaigning, an area hit hard by the housing crisis.
The program was meant to help five million borrowers, but so far only ten percent of that group have started using HARP. According to The Washington Post the announcement made by Obama enhances the program certain homeoweners who are not currently eligible able to refinance under HARP. Also, if you want to refinance for short term mortgages then the extra fees will be cut, and people that owe more than 125% of their property worth now have a chance to access the program.
This is great news for anyone that owns a house in this economy. If you are concerned that your house still may exceed 125% and impede your ability to get HARP there are a few easy ways to increase the value of your house. A few of these ways are:

  • Painting
  • Power washing your deck, driveway, or brick
  • Removing Popcorn ceilings
  • Refinishing Cabinetry
  • And refreshing your wallpaper

All of these projects are a quick way to make your house worth more than what it did just even a week ago. One important part of this is getting professionals to do the work though. CertaPro painters does all of these projects and much more while giving competive pricing and free estimates! Call 706-993-9600 to start today!
